Advancing CMV Education and Testing: Reflections on a Decade of Progress

Abstract Summary

In 2013, Utah made history as the first state in the nation to implement CMV legislation. Over the past decade, the Utah Public Health Initiative has witnessed remarkable progress. There has been a notable increase in awareness regarding the risks of CMV during pregnancy, widespread recognition of the importance of early congenital CMV testing, and continuous improvements to the testing process, benefiting both healthcare providers and families. More importantly, though, these advancements have not been limited to Utah alone; they have also extended across the United States and Canada. While there is still progress to be made, every small step forward holds significance. Let us come together to appreciate and celebrate the incredible achievements of this past decade!
